Robin Hindle Fisher

Member of the Finance Committee

Robin is a business coach and a non-executive director of an investment management firm. He is married with two daughters in their 20s and lives and works in central London. Robin is physically disabled (caused by Thalidomide) and has been a trustee of three other disability charities since 1999. From July 2014 to September 2016 Robin was chair of the Extra Costs Commission, an independent body created by Scope to examine ways of alleviating the extra costs of living faced by disabled people in the UK. Robin’s involvement in the Extra Costs Commission gave him some understanding of Scope and confirmed his interest in making a broader contribution.

Robin has been a business coach and non-executive director since 2009 and before that he had an executive career in financial services. During that time Robin worked at Chief Executive Officer, partner and managing director level with wide management and leadership responsibilities at a number of major organisations. He has experience of serving on boards and leading organisations, as an executive director, as a non-executive director and as a charity trustee of the Lady Hoare Trust, Contact-a-Family and the Family Fund.

Robin feels his experience as a disabled person and his understanding of some of the issues and challenges faced by disabled people in the community and the workplace, combined with his business and charity experience, leaves him well placed to make a contribution to Scope's work.
