Mark D Smith

Finance and Global Business Services expert

Mark has been involved with multiple charities over the last 15 years, such as Great Ormond Street Hospital and HOME Singapore, and became involved with Scope when he returned from Singapore to live in London. Introduced to Scope through fellow Ambassadors Richard Farr and Isabel Hudson, Mark has been crucial to the success of the Inspirations Dinner for the last two years when it has grown in scale, and has now taken over as committee chair for 2016 and beyond.

Having worked at Unilever for over 31 years, Mark was a founding member of Unilever’s Global Agile Working programme, and the Unilever Diversity Board. He has been instrumental in introducing Scope to companies and businesses to promote disability issues as part of their diversity policies, initiating important conversations between Scope and top firms across different industry sectors.
The great work that Scope does deserves support. Cancer and children’s charities are more immediately chosen by others for fundraising and support but disability is just as important an issue to address. I want to help raise awareness of Scope’s work."
