Tony Hunter OBE - Trustee

He has worked at Director, Executive Director and currently Chief Executive level (at North East Lincolnshire Council). Tony is a member of three relevant and high-profile national bodies, including the Secretary of State for Health’s National Advisory Forum and the Department for Education’s Ministerial Advisory Group, which would enable him to influence agendas that could help take forward Scope’s vision.

Tony is the President Designate of the Society of Local Authority Chief Executives (Solace) for 2013/14 and was previously the President of the Association of Directors of Social Services.  Earlier in his career, he worked at Barnardo’s and Price Waterhouse Management Consultants.

Over the past year, Tony has had both informal and formal contact with Scope, including a session with senior managers offering a local government chief executive’s perspective and attending the recent Strategic Enquiry event in Manchester. Tony was awarded the OBE in 2010 for services to local government.
