Our campaigns in Wales
As part of Scope Cymru’s campaign work with the National Assembly for Wales, we wrote to all the main candidates in the National Assembly elections asking them to sign up to our statement of principles that they will stick by if elected.
We asked them to:
- Do all they can to ensure that disabled people in Wales have the same opportunities to fulfil their life ambitions as everyone else
- Fight for the inclusion of their party’s manifesto policies that benefit disabled people in any coalition negotiations following the election
- Work with Scope Cymru to advocate disability equality during the next National Assembly and meet with their representatives during their first year as an Assembly Member
Candidates were asked to sign and return this pledge to Scope Cymru.
Below is a list of candidates, by constituency and region, showing who has signed our pledge. We would like to thank all those who signed our pledge and look forward to working with those who were elected (shown in bold) during the next National Assembly.
(Please note – main candidates are considered as all Conservative, Labour, Liberal Democrat and Plaid Cymru constituency candidates, the top four list candidates for these parties and the top list candidate for the Green Party and UKIP.)
