Tell us about yourself

I started work at Scope two years ago as a local campaigns officer, and I can honestly say it's a great organisation to be part of. Scope has always been special to me, even before I worked here. They supported my parents when I was first born, answering all those difficult questions, like will my disability stop me doing the things that other kids do, and generally reassured them about the future.

What has Scope enabled you to do?

My parents needn’t have worried; Scope made sure I wasn’t left behind. When I finished university, Scope helped me find my first job in investment banking. Then, after two years in that role, I was lucky enough to be offered my current job in Scope’s Policy and Campaigns team. I’ve not looked back since.

What’s the best part of your Scope experience?

I’m so lucky to have the opportunity to work with such a varied group of people. Every day is different. My work takes me all over the country. I get to meet many inspirational people and support them to realise the change they want to see where they live.

Simple changes, often - like getting access to a local restaurant or a parking space near their home - but they can have such a massive effect on the lives of disabled people themselves and their families. And that’s why I love my job!
