Ken Nevis – Ben Nevis Beyond Boundaries
31 May 2008

Event photo : Event photo Have you got what it takes?

Ex-SAS TV Presenter and engineer of the BBC's Beyond Boundaries series, Ken Hames, is joining forces with Scope and Capability Scotland, two of the UK's leading disability charities, to lead 10 teams on a challenging expedition to the top of Britain's highest peak, Ben Nevis on 31 May 2008.

Inspired by recently crossing the Andes with two disabled expedition members who were wheelchair users in his Beyond Boundaries 3 documentary, Ken has decided to throw down the gauntlet to UK companies with the Ken Nevis Challenge.

The race is now on to find 10 teams of six 'Just Do It' people, from companies across Scotland, England and Wales to pitch their strengths against each other.

Each team will be led by a wheelchair user, who will navigate and direct the team up the mountain in the quickest time! This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for you and your team to break all your performance barriers!

The real mission is to raise funds and raise awareness of the work Scope and Capability Scotland do across the UK to support disabled people to achieve equality, whilst invigorating and developing teams from the UK's leading companies. This event forms a great platform to help build an effective and successful team, where resilience, versatility and group skills will all be pushed to the limit. Each team will not only develop these skills, but will be helping Scope and Capability Scotland towards their goal of raising an amazing £100,000 from this challenge.

Scope is one of the leading disability charities in the UK, working with children and adults with cerebral palsy. Scope's aim is that disabled people achieve equality: a society in which they are as valued, and have the same human and civil rights as everyone else. Scope's Time to Get Equal campaign encourages people to recognise disabled people's rights. This event highlights our mission and we want you to join our team.

Established in 1946 as a support group for the parents of children with cerebral palsy, Capability Scotland has now grown into one of the country's leading disability organisations working for a just Scotland. Working with disabled children and adults, their families and carers to support them in their everyday lives, Capability Scotland has firmly established itself as a force for positive change in the lives of disabled people and as a champion for their rights.
