Planning Your Petition

Who's your target?

Make sure your petition is aimed at the right person or organisation.Take time to work out who is  the best target as this will be time well spent. For example, if you want to see an increase in the number of accessible taxis in your local area it’s a good idea to petition the licensing department of your local council.

Get your facts right

Give evidence of your problem i.e. numbers affected, impact of problem etc. Carry out detailed research into your issue.

Gather Stories

A short personal story will often get people’s attention better than statistics and graphs.
