Hi there! I too am new to this site! My 2 year old son has recently been diagnosed with spastic diplegia (diagnosis was a long time coming!). He seems to have it mildly (so far) and has just started to take a few stiff steps by himself :-). My query is that he recently seems to be having a really hard time falling asleep at night and also sometimes for his day nap. He kicks and kicks his legs in his cot whilst trying to fall asleep, just wants to stand and march up and down the cot and i KNOW that he is tired but its recently been taking 2 hours to fall asleep! I stopped his day nap today, he was exhausted, (usually has about an hour) and it still took over an hour for him to fall asleep tonight. Im wondering whether this has something to do with spasms in his legs? He also has low tone in his trunk. Is falling asleep harder for kids with cp? My son is also profoundly deaf (just had a cochlear implant in the last couple of months), not sure if this is related either? Or is my son just being a pickle and enjoying the attention and giving mum a hard time?! Any advice would be welcome. Lisa
