Our 9 year old has mild CP and has just been diagnosed as being mildly dyslexic. We are now looking for a tutor either specialised or with experience in teaching dyslexic children. This is turning out to be a much bigger challenge than we expected as we haven't found any list anywhere so any help or referal would be extremely appreciated. We live in North London.
Thank you

Hi
I have just seen your message which I hope may be of some use.
Our son is 11 with a mild hemiplegia and dyslexia and dysgraphia. We had this confirmed by private assessment at a dyslexia centre in surrey just over one year ago -Helen Arkell Centre. We looked everywhere for a specialist tutor tthrough friends, contacts, school and struggled so we went on the waiting list for a tutor with the dyslexia centre - we hadn't done this before because we assumed we would have to go there which was not practical.
After a year -we had given up actually, one of the centre's tutors locally to us had a space and our son has now been seeing them for a term. We feel he is making great progress after a somewhat slow start. he likes what he is doing with her and he is getting to use some great software that helps him overcome his dysgraphia too.
Hope this may be of some help
