Hi there. If anyone has found any helpful resources, e.g. children's book, that you have used to help you explain to your child what CP is please share. I work with children with CP and it would be good to be able to point the parents in the direction of some literature that either they can digest which will help them with what they say to their child or a resource that the child themself can read with their parents by way of a story book. Look forward to hearing from you :o)

Hi

Amazon has quite wide choice of books on cerebral palsy, quite a few looked very child friendly when I last browsed. I was not specifically looking for a book for a child, though.

Hi My daughter enjoys the Wendy on Wheels books they are not books to explain a disability but just nice books about a child who uses a wheelchair and how she doesnt let it stop her doing anything. Proberly a lot like most of our children. So far there are 4 books and in one it explains about discrimination and what we can do about it. They are just nice books with nice pictures in and a child in a wheelchair getting on with life. Well worth a look think they are aimed at children -11yrs but my daughter is 13 and carn't wait for the next book to come out.

We have recently been looking for something to explain cp to our little one too. She has two stories one of which is "sometimes" and is written from a siblings perspective what we have found is that youngsters with.c P are utterly unique face unique challenges and have equally unique perspectives. We are starting to put together a book written by libi about libi to share with her peers in school - libi is already writing an entire story in which she is the heroine of course !
I would love to hear about more books or resources xx
