DIAL advisory group: latest activity
In July the advisory group made good progress with developing a quality measure for the Network. Members also discussed social change and resilience research findings and spent a practical session sharing their experience of social media and learning about different options available. Terms of reference
Purpose
- Critical friend to Scope around facilitation of the DIAL Network.
Role
- To provide a platform of engagement and support between DIAL organisations and Scope.
- To contribute ideas around legislation for joint working that will create a more interactive Equality Network of DIAL organisations supported by Scope.
- To contribute to development of the annual DIAL Network offer in relation to DIAL member group support needs, relevant and appropriate to their work.
- To help harvest information about progress, activity and issues within the DIAL Network.
- To feed any issues up to national level and vice versa, moving forward those actions people want to see in the future.
Co-ordination
- Scope to facilitate.
- Meet every two-three months.
- Alternate teleconference and face-to-face meetings.
Objectives
- Create and regularly review annual membership offer for DIAL Network.
- To facilitate information sharing across the network.
- To identify initiatives for strengthening the network and lead on implementation.
- To regularly review and improve processes across the network to ensure maximum impact.
Member roles and responsibilities
- Leads for specific items of work.
- Commitment from both DIAL and Scope to support the DIAL Network to deliver high-quality and relevant support to disabled people, by developing and providing relevant and appropriate information and resources.
- Members of the Advisory group to link with local networks and be a conduit for information sharing and identifying customer need.
