Find help

It is best to get some help as soon as possible. A local advice service or advocacy organisation may:

  • know how your local authority is making cuts and
  • know how the cuts are affecting other disabled people in your area
  • be able to help you work out what to do
  • support you by coming to your assessment with you and helping you make your case
  • be able to help you make a complaint and follow it up
  • be able to put you in touch with specialist help if you need to take things further.

Be ready to phone around for help. Some advice and support services may not have the right expertise. Others may have too many people to help already. Much will depend on where you live and what services are nearby - see Further help.
