Science and dyslexia at P level 7

At P level 7 vocabulary increases and concepts are applied more as generalisations. At this level the pupil will need support to make simple records.
Also read the information on the challenges faced by children with dyslexia across the curriculum and at all levels, plus the suggestions for inclusion.
You can
- Reinforce the practical aspects of science so as not to deter the pupil struggling with terminology.
- Use voice recording, digital photography or a scaffolded work-sheet which has prompts for answers to help the pupil make records.
- Try using pictures and cartoons in sequence to plan and record work. Talk through what they might need to do to find something out.
- Prompt, with vocabulary, if necessary, to help the child present to other students.
