Science and dyslexia at P level 7

At P level 7 vocabulary increases and concepts are applied more as generalisations.  At this level the pupil will need support to make simple records.

You can

• Reinforce the practical aspects of science so as not to deter the pupil struggling with terminology.
• Use voice recording, digital photography or a scaffolded work-sheet which has prompts for answers to help the pupil make records.
• Try using pictures and cartoons in sequence to plan and record work. Talk through what they might need to do to find something out.  
• Prompt, with vocabulary, if necessary, to help the child present to other students.
