Art and design and physical impairment at P level 8
At P level 8, pupils work in 3-D, which has physical challenges.
They are more involved with the concept of a creative process, and its completion and more aware of meaning in their own work.
You can:
Enable the pupil to create 3-D art by working with their strengths. For example a pupil may be able to make shapes on a potter’s wheel by applying a little pressure as the wheel is rotated.
Think about activities that are not physically demanding and can be accessed by limited movement. Use materials such as expanded maize shapes which easily stick when dampened. lightweight card, plastic sheets, Plasticine, Fimo, playdough and papier-mâché. Bubble-wrap can be used effectively with a cardboard or wire frame.
