English and children with dyslexia at P levels 6-8

At P levels 6-8 there is much more interaction between pupils, which will be challenging to a child who is searching for the right word or trying to order words in sentences. By P level 8 the child will have knowledge of some letter names and sounds.
You can:
- Plan ahead so that the child is prepared for the vocabulary they need to talk about a specific subject or event. For example, if they want to share their news help them in advance to talk about what they did, prompting them with specific words that they need.
- Use an alphabet arc (letters laid out in rainbow shape from left to right, with m in the middle) to give the child an image of all the letters and gradually build their repertoire.
