PE: visual impairment at P level 8

The challenge at this P level is to demonstrate more control of movement, which means giving feedback on how to improve.

You can:

  • Break movements into component parts verbalising as the pupil practises. Set relevant goals to improve such as "bend your knees as you land" ensuring that the pupil understands the instruction.
  • Think of simple games where the pupil can feel a sense of achievement, such as rolling a ball at skittles or spinning a hoop around their waist. Older children can use gym equipment such as treadmills, cross walkers or rowing machines with set targets.
