PE: hearing impairment at P levels 5 to 8
The issues for the hearing impaired child are the same for all P levels – ensuring they understand instructions and communicate effectively with others.
As the child progresses up the levels, expectations on them grow, so instructions will increase and you will continue to need support strategies. As co-operative work increases, support with communication will be needed.
As before, ensure that instructions are clear; do not issue too many at once as this can be confusing. Give simple, step-by-step directions and check that the pupil understands what they need to do.
