PSHE at KS2 and physical impairment

The challenges and suggestions are the same at this level as for KS1.

Also try to focus on self-esteem and working with the other pupils in the class on valuing and accepting every individual.

Try buddying with another pupil who is willing to provide support. It is also useful to ensure the pupil has appropriate role models who can answer questions about the life experiences of disabled adults.

Ensure that physical impairment does not impact on the pupil’s assessment, so be prepared to assess in whatever way works best for the pupil – including the use of technology if this helps.
