PSHE at KS3 and dyslexia

If using drama to develop strategies and concepts for pupils in PSHE, avoid giving the dyslexic pupil something to read out loud without warning and support. They may be better at improvising, rather than reading aloud, if they know and understand the theme and concepts to portray.
Use a checklist of key words and phrases as a prompt for improvisation in drama or discussion. Many pupils will benefit from referring to key words and phrases during the lesson.
Use minimal writing for recording lessons – a Mind Map or Word web is effective for recording or developing concepts but needs minimal writing.
