There may be physical access issues for work in small groups so carefully consider how these are set up and facilitated.
You can:
Make sure activities can fully involve the pupil. Make links to other subjects particularly science, which has plenty of opportunities for cooperative work and develops social skills.
Think about the physical aspects of an activity. Make sure resources can be reached by a pupil in a wheelchair. For example, with a construction task use either small construction bricks on a table, or outsize construction equipment such as Quadro which is brilliant for making big models that pupils can actually get inside.
