PSHE: physical impairment at P level 7

The increased challenge at P level 7 is in being able to choose activities and work within a group; negotiating and showing consideration for others.

You can:

• Buddy the pupil with a willing peer, who can be briefed on how best to help.
• Develop the concept of consideration for others by reinforcing that this is a two-way process; that as well as expecting consideration we need to show it to others.
• Praise examples of pupils being considerate and share these with the class.
• Use appropriate literature supported by book bags and activities. Espresso  has a range of useful resources.
• Linking the pupil’s actions with cause and effect in science activities may help to encourage them to understand that everything we do has consequences. Some consequences are good and some are not, either for ourselves or others..
