PSHE and visual impairment at P level 8

The concept of right and wrong is established within this P level. Acquiring the skills of being sensitive to other people will need support.

You can:

  • Continue to develop work on what is right and wrong through acting out scenarios and using examples as they occur in class. Be consistent in what we mean by the terms right and wrong, and link them to being about other people’s needs.
  • Help the pupil be sensitive to others’ needs by starting with their own. Focus on the needs that are unconnected with being visually impaired. This may help the pupil understand that other people have similar needs in some areas and perhaps additional ones in other areas.
  • Develop a classroom ethos of pupils being respectful to each other. It will make supporting individuals much easier and more effective.
