Science and communication difficulties at P level 7
The pupil will need support to develop vocabulary, to record findings and evaluate their own work.
Read the section on communication difficulties that applies across subject areas and levels for an explanation of the main issues and strategies to use in each case.
You can:
- Continue with the methods from P level 6, keeping vocabulary clear and modelling phrases and questions.
- Try digital photography, sequenced photos or symbols for recording findings. Scaffolding methods with verbal prompts and adult support can be effective.
- Phrase evaluation as: ‘What went well?’ ‘What could have been better?’ Use model questions and answers to get to this.
