Science is a practical subject at P levels and beyond so think about how to make all activities accessible and visual

You can

  • Try to adapt activities so that the pupil can participate on their own terms – taking part is important for understanding and remembering concepts. Watching someone else is not as effective.
  • Try using switch access to show cause and effect
  • Use musical instruments or the Skoog for cause and effect  too; for controlling sound, and reinforcing the concept of pushing
