Science and physical impairment at P level 5
At P level 5 the challenges are around creating the environment for enquiry and scientific thinking. Also read about the main challenges for children with physical impairment across subject areas and suggestions for inclusion
You can:
- Continue learning though demonstration and matching, as for P level 4
- Scale down activities so they are more manageable, if necessary; a smaller car to push or a pile of smaller bricks to topple over
- Appoint a buddy for the demonstrating part of scientific thinking but try to ensure that one pupil does not do all the work
- Use some demonstrations, either live or via DVD, which are on a big scale and memorable. See videos
