Science at KS2 and physical impairment
The challenges and suggestions are the same at this level as for KS1.
Increasingly there is more practical input required from pupils at KS2 Science, with regard to working with each other on experiments and investigations. This shared working will need support so that the pupil is able to feel that they can contribute and are valued
Try to put the pupil in as practical a role as possible, but where this is limited then ensure they have a role in discussing what to do, and the outcome. The pupil might be able to record results on a computer, or through a voice recorder, while their work partner does more of the practical work
It may be helpful to discuss with the pupil and their work partner what each is able to contribute and how the work will be divided fairly, so that the physically disabled pupil is able to do the parts of the practical work that they can readily access
