Scope Apprentice Challenge
Scope Apprentice Challenge – do you have what it takes?
This challenge is a fantastic way to involve your organisation and colleagues in fundraising and volunteering for Scope. At least two teams of four or five people compete against one another in a fun team-building entrepreneurial challenge.
Each team’s challenge is to raise as much money as they can over a period of weeks before spending a day in a Scope shop. Their money they raise will be added to the shop’s takings for the day and the value of stock donated - and the team with the highest total wins.
Organisations can even have their own “firing” meeting to complete the challenge!
“The Challenge created a huge buzz for the team and has been the topic of conversation ever since. All the people involved have felt a real pride in working with Scope so thank you very much for giving RSA the opportunity.” Regional Director, London and East Anglia, RSA
How the Scope Apprentice Challenge works
Teams will go head to head and put their entrepreneurial, marketing and sales skills to the test by taking over a Scope shop for the day whilst competing against each other to see who can gain the greatest increase in sales, foot-fall and local awareness. Teams can work in shops on the same day or if more suitable for the organisation, the challenge can be spread over a couple of weeks. The challenge works at any time of year but it’s great to combine it with a theme such as Valentine’s Day or Winter Wonderland.
We have over 250 shops across England and Wales including a number of London locations that are suitable for the challenge.
Generating charity shop stock
Generating stock is part of any successful Scope Apprentice Challenge and teams are encouraged to collect items from friends, family and colleagues. Bags collected will be taken into account in the final winner decision and as you will leave unsold stock with the shop your donations can keep having a positive impact on Scope even after you’ve finished the challenge.
Shop staff and volunteers will support teams as far as possible but the challenge on the day is the teams.
