Access to Volunteering Fund

Scope has run its own Access to Volunteering Fund, which aims to provide funds that help us to include disabled people who want to volunteer.

Scope’s Access to Volunteering fund helps to provide for reasonable adjustments that are not normally covered by volunteer expenses - for example, taxis, adapted equipment and enabling. To ensure the fund is well-distributed in a fair and equitable way, some applications may need to be time-limited.

Expenses that would be incurred by any volunteer, such as lunch or travel on public transport, are not covered by the scheme - please only apply for additional expenses for disabled volunteers.

Since introducing the fund, the number of disabled people volunteering for Scope has nearly tripled!

Contact the Head of Volunteering Strategy at Scope if you would like more information on how to establish and run a similar fund in your volunteer-involving organisation.
