Independent Living

"Independent living is what non-disabled people take for granted: living your own life, deciding what you want to do and making it happen."

Scope is committed to a fundamental review of our residential services, adhering to the principles of independence and choice that inform and underline the practice and philosophy of independent living. We believe that Scope's service users must be supported and enabled to make their own decisions about how they want to live

For many of our service users, living independently is now practical as well as being right in principle, and we aim to provide them with the right kind of support to achieve this.
