Numerous times I have applied to large organisations such as the NHS and councils where they guarantee interviews, if you meet the criteria!
Going on these interviews can and are mentally draining. My perception of the situation, after twelve interviews being rejected in the last twenty months, is it's soul destroying!
In my view, why do companies advertise jobs knowing full well someone within the organisation is going to get it (having to go through appropriate channels before interview, being coached on information to write). Interviewers say they do not have names of the people in the additional information but they can tell who it is by their past experience. It riles me!
One trust tells people beforehand the situation so you can make an educated decision as to apply.
“Priority will be given to NHS staff across the region who are at risk of redundancy, where the vacancy is at the same band or one below their current band.”
I feel I am taken for a mug!
