We recently ran two events (one in London and one in Manchester) giving people a chance to get involved in our strategy review. I was delighted that members and local groups that used to be affiliated to Scope were represented at both events and very much valued the feedback we got from those of you who attended. We also had a very positive session on the strategy at the Scope Assembly meeting in April. Some really good ideas were raised which we will definitely be taking on board.
Against the backdrop of cuts, welfare reform and widespread change across public services, it's important that we have the right long-term direction. This will help us to ensure that we are influencing positive change through our work in information, education, support, care and campaigning. Ultimately, we want to create a better society for disabled people and their families. So it is important that our future direction is shaped by the views and experiences of disabled people and their families, as well as a good understanding of the current environment and a vision for the society we want. We will keep you informed as the new strategy takes shape.
Thank you, as always, for your support. If you have any views or questions, please contact membership@scope.org.uk
