Direct payments research in Wales

Direct Payments can be an important tool in enabling someone to create a care package that is designed around them. Often disabled people can find local authority services too rigid and inflexible but can use a direct payment to get the support when and how they need it.

In Wales, fewer people use direct payments compared to in England. This means there can be fewer services to cater for those who do receive them.

Scope Cymru is currently doing research into how direct payment users can work together to get the most from their direct payment and how services can be created to achieve this.

But we need to hear the views of those already receiving direct payments and living in Wales so we can ensure our research looks at the challenges that people are facing in getting the most for their money.

If you live in Wales and receive a direct payment, then we would like to invite you to be part of our research group. By joining you can have your say and suggest the changes that could make it easier for direct payment users to get the most from the payment.

If you would like to be involved, please email me on matthew.ogrady@scope.org.uk so we can include you in our research.
