Former Olympic sprinter Linford Christie hosts Scope event
3 July 2013
Former Olympic sprinter Linford Christie OBE hosted a Q&A at our latest event at the top of the BT Tower, London on Wednesday 3 July. Ninety-five guests attended the event, which aimed to thank existing donors for their support and further engage them with the charity.
Linford is the only British man to have won gold medals in the 100 metres at all four major competitions open to British athletes: the Olympic Games, the World Championships, the European Championships and the Commonwealth Games. During the Q&A he answered questions about his career as an Olympic sprinter, his current role as a coach to young athletes and his reasons for supporting Scope.
Guests enjoyed drinks and canapés while admiring the stunning panoramic view from the top, as it slowly rotated. They watched a short inspirational film from Jamie Love who attends our Craig y Parc school.
Going to the school has been a transformational experience for Jamie and has given him the confidence to follow his dreams.
A special thanks to BT for generously allowing us to use the Tower free of charge.
