The parents of disabled children at the Percy Hedley School in Newcastle have chosen three subjects to discuss which they find of particular concern. Each topic will be introduced by two speakers, one a parent, the other a professional, to be followed by a general discussion.

Session 1: Hearing the bad news and planning the way forward
Parent: Steve Haddon, Father of Amy and SEN teacher
Professional: Dr Laurent Junier, Consultant Paediatrician Switzerland

Session 2: Feeding and nutrition
Parent: Dr Catherine Gibb PhD SaLT, Mother of Leroy
Professional: Dr Owen Hensey, Consultant Paediatrician and Medical Director Central Remedial Clinic Dublin Ireland

Session 3: Finding the balance between education and physical needs
Parent: Steve Curtis, Father of Ruby and Founder of Leeds Power Chair Football Club
Professional: Ruth Zimmerman Conductor/Teacher, England

This forum will be of interest not only to parents but also to all those who work with parents of disabled children across Europe, for these topics are of universal concern.
