Career opportunities

We offer graduate and internship positions in areas across the bank including: Compliance, Corporate Communications, Finance, Global Financial Risk Management, Human Resources, Information Risk Management, Investment Banking and Debt Capital Markets, Marketing, Operations, Quantitative Analytics, Research, Sales, Structuring, Technology and Trading.

Most internships are 10 weeks in length and take place over the summer period. Barclays Capital also run longer term placement programmes across some of the infrastructure businesses. In addition, off-cycle positions are also available, dependent on business needs.

Interns are expected to work on a range of projects from live transactions and marketing projects to research and analysis, depending on the business area. As well as the everyday work, interns receive training before and during the programme, and also have a lot of opportunities to network with intern colleagues, recent graduates and senior members of the firm.

Our graduate programme is key to success and is supported by senior management throughout the organisation. On the programme, graduates are provided with an excellent understanding of financial markets, as well as the bank’s products, instruments and services. The programme takes learning one step further, incorporating practical applications through a variety of case studies, workshops and presentations. Depending on the area joined, each graduate receives comprehensive, role-specific training as well as training in soft skills.
