English at P level 6
- To initiate and maintain short conversations using their preferred medium of communication. To ask simple questions to obtain information. To use prepositions (on, in) and pronouns (my, it) correctly.
- To respond to others in group situations, for example taking turns.
- To follow requests and instructions using three key words, signs or symbols for example ‘Give me the little red book’.
- To select, recognise and read a small number of words linked to a familiar vocabulary. To match letters and short words.
- To produce or write their name in letters or symbols. To copy letter forms for example labels and captions.
