Meldreth Manor: a special school for disabled children
Facilities
The facilities on site support the emphasis on a multi-sensory approach and integrated education and therapies. All facilities are fully wheelchair accessible.
The site is extensive, around 23 acres, and includes raised activity and sensory-based walkways (which we call 'Learning Curves'), a sensory garden, colourful and imaginative gardens and a riding stable which has its own hoist.
Indoor facilities
These include:
- Large, very well-equipped multi-sensory room
- Soft play room, including a water-bed
- Multi-media room for Soundbeam sessions and class/group ICT work
- Food technology room with accessible worktops (which raise and lower) and equipment
- Hydrotherapy pool
- Rebound therapy facilities
- All classrooms with interactive whiteboards
- Overhead tracking hoists throughout the site
- Excellent training facilities for all aspects of staff training
"The school's premises and accommodation enable pupils to learn effectively, safely and securely." Ofsted November 2010
