Alder Hey Hospital, Liverpool Face 2 Face Scheme

Are you a parent who is accessing Alder Hey hospital in Liverpool?

The Face 2 Face service is now available to any parent or carer of a disabled child. We have trained volunteer befrienders who are all parents of disabled children and are aware of the emotional journey parents can go on upon discovering their child is disabled.

A befriender will meet with you and offer you the opportunity to discuss how you are feeling and support you with those feelings, initially offering you six visits with a befriender followed by a review. If we feel you would benefit from having more support then we can offer more visits. This service is offered to parents during their stay whose child is an inpatient as well as if they are an outpatient and living in the Liverpool area.

If you feel you would benefit from meeting with a trained parent befriender or would like more information on the service, please contact the scheme co-ordinator by telephone on 07843 467588 or via email at vicky.harris@scope.org.uk
