Bath, North East Somerset, North and West Wiltshire Face 2 Face Scheme

Face 2 Face is a befriending service for parents of disabled children. It is a network of trained befrienders supporting parents who are in crisis, going through the trauma of having their child diagnosed or simply feel they would benefit from someone to talk to.

The Carers Centre for Bath and North East Somerset currently have 8 trained volunteer befrienders, all of whom care for a disabled child themselves and plan to commence a second round of training at the end of January 2013.  These volunteers are experienced and can offer empathy, emotional support and reassurance to help other parents either face to face or via the telephone.

This is a real opportunity to give parents some additional support during a difficult time. Befrienders are supported by the Carers’ Centre for Bath and North East Somerset, which is able to offer counselling, advice, practical support and activities for parent carers and their families.

If you feel you could benefit from this service or wish to become a befriender please contact Jo Grobler on 01761 431388 or email jo.grobler@banescarerscentre.org.uk
