Chester Skills Development Centre

Chester Skills Development Centre (Chester SDC) encourages disabled people to develop independent skills in all forms of community life. The centre provides a day service for adult disabled people, including those with physical impairments, learning difficulties and behavioural needs.

Anyone attending the service has an individual care plan that takes account of their needs, expectations and rights.

Chester SDC supports the development of skills including Computer Literacy and Information Technology (CLAIT), preparation for work, employment, education and life skills.

Service users are encouraged to participate fully in all activities at the centre, and they have set up (and manage) the Link Up Club (which organises leisure and social activities) and its Campaigns Group.

Read our Link Up Club blog.

The group regularly organises trips to concerts, sporting and art events, and also holidays in this country and abroad.
