Cerebral palsy
Including young children with cerebral palsy requires early years practitioners to understand not only the physical but also the learning disabilities commonly associated with the condition.
This session covers the common causes and effects of cerebral palsy, looking at the different aspects on the developing child within the family and the impact on early education.
Learning outcomes
After attending the course, you will:
- Recognise causes and types of cerebral palsy and common co-occurring difficulties
- Understand simple neurological information, neural pathways and how these can be affected
- Be aware of the brain and the impact on learning, senses, behaviour and movement
