Communication for all

The more effectively a child can communicate, in whatever form, the more they can be included in everyday activities. This practical session is designed to help early years professionals, engage with all children, especially those with little or no speech.

Learning outcomes

After attending the course, you will:

• Understand the ways in which we communicate and the importance of choices
• Be aware of unaided and aided communication
• Learn how communication aids can help include children
• Recognise the effects of your communication and challenging behaviour
