Parents as partners

Half-day course

Government initiatives demand all practitioners work more with parents of disabled children with additional needs. This course aims to give professionals an understanding of a family’s needs and how best to engage with them.

Learning outcomes

After the course, trainees will:

  • Understand the needs of parents and the wider family through diagnosis and beyond
  • Recognise the importance of valuing the child
  • Learn about breaking down barriers between parents and professionals
