Ingfield Manor School
Admissions

Children are referred for a place in the school by their Local Authority (LA). Parents of prospective pupils are encouraged to visit informally prior to a referral. If at that visit or subsequent visit we are able to meet the child, we are usually able to give a reasonably clear idea of whether or not Ingfield Manor School would be an appropriate school and whether we would have a place.
We can arrange an Assessment Visit when the prospective pupil and family are invited to meet school staff and will spend time within a group, enabling a thorough assessment to be made of the school’s ability to meet the child’s needs. Following the assessment a meeting is held and a decision is made as to whether the child’s needs could be met at Ingfield Manor School and if so whether a suitable place is available. Parents and, if appropriate, the family’s local authority is informed of this decision.
Should parents want to pursue a placement they must secure agreement from their Local Authority to fund a place. Referrals for placement in school occur throughout the school year.
