Multi-sensory curriculum

We offer a creative approach to a multi-sensory curriculum, which promotes all aspects of the child’s development: physical, social, emotional and intellectual which, are addressed simultaneously, through a range of therapies including speech and language therapy, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, music therapy as well as imaginative use of ICT.  Read Suzanne Little, specialist teacher at Meldreth, on multi-sensory environments

Meldreth Manor Children's Home

To meet demand from parents and local authorities, Meldreth Manor registered as a children's home in 2009. The facility, linked to Meldreth Manor School, provides residential accommodation for children aged between 9 and 18 with multiple and complex needs. Most children attend the school but this is not mandatory.

The home can offer full-time accommodation as well as short breaks. Accommodation is provided in flats with up to 10 children in each. There are opportunities for both shared and single bedrooms, which are fully equipped to support the client group. Children are offered a wide and varied diet recognising needs, choices and preferences.

As well as using the grounds at Meldreth Manor, children access local community activities, which are varied according to choices. Adapted vehicles are available for trips out. Any religious observances can be accommodated by visiting places of worship in the community.

Staff are trained and qualified in social care and delegated health care tasks. The home employs nurses, physiotherapists, speech and language therapists and occupational therapists.

Parents are free to visit at any time and there is accommodation on site for them.
