Face 2 Face Isle of Wight
Face 2 Face Isle of Wight is a befriending service for parents of disabled children. The scheme offers one-to-one emotional support from trained volunteer befrienders who can support parents either at diagnosis of their child’s additional need, at a time of crisis or at the time of diagnosis for their disabled child.
All befrienders are parents of a disabled child themselves so can truly empathise. They are available to offer emotionally support, empower and encourage parents at any time that may be less than easy in relation to their child’s additional need. Support can be either face-to-face or via email and telephone.
Referrals to the Face 2 Face Isle of Wight service can be made by parents or local professionals (with the parent's consent).
If you feel you could benefit from this service, or are interested in becoming a befriender, please contact Nigel Marsh on 07435 966750 or email nigel.marsh@scope.org.uk
