Milton Keynes Community Care Services

Milton Keynes Community Care Services is registered as a care home providing support to disabled people with a wide range of impairments in 14 fully wheelchair accessible flats. We also run a day centre near the flats, close to Milton Keynes centre.
We have been considering the future of our residential service and day centre as fewer disabled people have been using them over the years. We also believe that disabled people should be supported to live more independently in the community, having more control over where they live and the support they get. This aim is shared by Milton Keynes Council and other local authorities.
We’ve recently been talking to customers and their local authorities about the future of services. We believe the best way forward in Milton Keynes is to de-register the service so that disabled people can manage their own tenancies and support, either in Milton Keynes or elsewhere if they choose.
As there are a number of other established organisations in Milton Keynes who provide this kind of support, this sadly means that Scope will not be able to continue providing the residential service or day centre for our remaining customers.
We are very sorry that we are not able to continue providing services for customers in Milton Keynes. We are committed to doing everything we can to work with them, their local authorities, families, advocates and staff to provide as much support as we possibly can during this process.
