Roman House

Read the Care Quality Comission report

Roman House is a purpose-built centre three miles from the centre of Basingstoke, providing a residential service for adults with cerebral palsy and associated impairments.

There are two bungalows offering independent living accommodation for eight adults. Service users were involved in every stage of the planning, construction and furnishing of their apartments - even to the point of "road-testing" specialist equipment before it was purchased and installed.

The bungalows meet the environmental standards set out within the Commission for Care Standards, and were constructed in partnership with Hampshire Voluntary Housing Society.

Roman House offers a full and active day service. There are classes in current affairs, money awareness and life skills as well as outings to bowling, swimming, ice skating and the cinema, which are planned by disabled people who use the service.
