Scope Fostering Service in East Anglia
We need foster carers now - call 01763 268013 for an informal chat.
We provide a specialist family-based fostering service for disabled children and young people, particularly those with complex support needs, in the East Anglia region, including Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Norfolk and Suffolk.
We offer children the consistency, stability and emotional warmth that they need from a family home, as well as providing local authorities with a long-term alternative to much more costly residential care placements.
A flexible range of family-based foster placements
We also offer:
Short-term placements – anything from an emergency placement (for example, a day or few weeks for a family illness) to 18 months
Shared care – where a child lives with a foster carer part-time and their family for the rest of the time
Bridging placement – where a child lives with a foster family while a longer term solution is planned (such as adoption or going back to their family)
Outcomes for disabled children and young people
In general, disabled children are nine times more likely to be put into care than non-disabled children, but only seven per cent of those severely disabled are placed in family homes.
We have a successful track record of providing disabled children and young people with stable, long-term placements, whose outcomes are judged by Ofsted to be "outstanding":
"Children make exceptional progress to develop a positive self-view. They enjoy excellent relationships with their carers, family and friends." Ofsted, January 2013
