Scope in Haringey, London

Working closely with other providers and fully trained volunteers, our friendly and caring staff provide high-quality and tailored support for disabled children and young people with a wide range of physical and learning impairments.

Our services make the most of what's available in the area and beyond. We’re here to provide information, advice and support services in the home and local community.

With accessible facilities and easy local public transport links, we give disabled children and young people the independence and choice to do the things they enjoy in a safe, friendly and stimulating environment.

Personal care in the home and community

We provide care for children and young people in their own home (also known as domiciliary care). Whether it's for a few hours, a day or evening, we can provide:

  • help with washing and bathing
  • dressing
  • assistance with eating
  • support in the community for shopping, attending clubs, social events, travelling to and from school or college.

Befriending

Our one-to-one service is for young people aged 14—18 who need support in the local community or at home. This might be to access activities, shop, meet friends or simply talk with someone.

Sleep solutions

We provide families with disabled children aged two and 19 to get the sleep they need.

We hold regular sleep workshops looking at difficulties with sleep and how to better manage sleep patterns. The workshop is designed to:

  • increase awareness and understanding of sleep difficulties and the impact they have on the whole family
  • provide proven practical suggestions for improving sleeping habits

We can also provide additional one-to-one support. Working with the family, a support worker will create a series of appointments to explore:

  • sleep diaries
  • bedroom environment
  • bedtime routine
  • diet and medication

Once a personalised sleep programme is created, support will be given until a new sleep pattern is established.
